SELECTOOL
uses a hardened alloy industrial insert to remove dull metal and restore a sharp edge.
The front top notches guide the blade and naturally adjust to the blade's angle as you pull it through.
The insert is adjustable to three levels, reversible, and replaceable, allowing you to sharpen everything from everyday knives to heavy-duty tools with consistent results.
Important to know:
SELECTOOL sharpens blades made from steel up to approximately 63-64 Rockwell hardness (HRC).

SELECTOOL does not force your blade into a preset angle. Instead, it naturally aligns with the existing edge of the knife or tool you are sharpening.
As you pull the blade through the sharpener, the front guide notches help center the blade so it follows its original sharpening angle. This means you don't need to measure, guess, or set an angle—SELECTOOL works with the edge your tool already has.
Because of this unique design, SELECTOOL can sharpen a wide variety of tools, including kitchen knives, pocket knives, hunting knives, axes, machetes, and lawnmower blades.

No-the amount of metal removed is fully controlled by the pressure you apply.
- If a blade is very dull or damaged and you need to rebuild the edge, you can apply firmer pressure to remove more dull metal.
- For everyday maintenance or lightly dull blades, use light pressure. This removes only a thin layer of dull metal and keeps your knife sharp without unnecessary wear.

Yes. SELECTOOL can sharpen serrated knives using the side knife guides.
Serrated blades have small teeth that can become dull, bent, or misshapen over time. To sharpen them, lightly guide the serrated edge through the side guide, allowing the rounded inserts to contact each serration. This helps realign and refresh each tooth, restoring cutting performance.
Use light pressure and a smooth motion. Typically, a few gentle strokes are sufficient to noticeably improve the sharpness of the knife without damaging its serrations.
For best results, we recommend watching our training videos, which demonstrate the proper technique for serrated edges.

What is the Insert made of?
Our main sharpening blade is made of a hardened alloy designed to sharpen virtually all blades you'll encounter. 
Adjustable, Reversible & Replaceable Blade Insert
The insert is secured with a screw that can be loosened, allowing the sharpening blade to be positioned at the three different levels, depending on the thickness of the blade or tool being sharpened.
Position 1: Everyday kitchen knives and pocket knives (thinner blades).
Position 2: Thicker knives such as hunting knives, outdoor knives, and heavier chef knives.
Position 3: (extended): Heavy-duty tools like axes, hatchets, machetes, and lawnmower blades.
The sharpening blade is reversible for extended use and fully replaceable when it eventually wears down. With normal household use, many of our customers report that a single blade can last 5–10 years.
